PARIETAL LOBE is one of the major lobes of the cerebrum and is posterior to the frontal lobe. It processes much of the incoming sensory information and at times is referred to as the lobe of “body awareness.” The primary somatosensory area is in a specific fold of the parietal lobe called the postcentral gyrus.
