NEW YORK (AP) — Designated hitter Starling Marte was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday by the New York Mets.
Starling Marte is set to return to the New York Mets' lineup on Tuesday after battling a bruised knee, leading to Jared Young losing his big league roster spot.
Marte’s activation came amid a flurry of roster moves by the Mets, who also placed left-handed longman Brandon Waddell on the 15-day injured list with a right hip impingement. Waddell suffered the injury when he slipped on the mound during a 3.2-inning outing on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds.
Rico Garcia might need to re-fill his MetroCard. The right-handed reliever had already bounced between the Mets and Yankees this season, and he’s now heading back to Flushing Meadows for a second stint with the Mets, who picked him up off waivers on Monday.
John Oliver was asked why he picked the New York Mets over the New York Yankees when he first moved to America. He didn't mince words.
