Kerr County officials addressed the Fourth of July floods that killed dozens of people during a commissioners’ court meeting on Monday morning.

INGRAM, Texas — Kerr County is hosting an informational town hall for those impacted by the floods Tuesday night in Ingram. Officials say the meeting will be provide helpful information to residents. FEMA’s flood outreach specialist and the assistant national flood insurance program state coordinator will be there as well.

Tuesday morning, CW39's Sharron Melton talked with Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez about a deployment of supplies going to Kerry County this morning. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is sending five trucks of relief supplies to Kerr County to support families impacted by the July Fourth devastating floods.

Some leaders said they are not prepared to raise taxes for what costs “might” be around the corner as Kerr County rebuilds from the Hill Country floods.

Three people were still missing Monday as a result of flooding in the Hill Country earlier this month. The Kerr County engineer says water levels in the Guadalupe River rose from 264 gallons a second to 125,

Through Aug. 31, the company will donate proceeds from 12-packs of Lipton Hard Iced Tea sold in Texas, up to $30,000, to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country's Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. The funds will provide immediate and long-term aid to Texans impacted by the floods.

Some of the items they’ll be talking about is a burn ban, and possibly waiving floodplain permit fees for those affected by the flood.

Less than 5% of homes in the county's FEMA floodplain had flood coverage, well below the national average. Uptake was even worse in other areas that flooded.
