Although XForms offers advances over current standards-based HTML forms, some W3C members worry that it faces an uphill battle because it isn't supported by the current generation of Web browsers.

Origo, the technology standards body for the financial services industry, is promoting the take up of XForms, billed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as the next generation of Web forms.

XForms, meanwhile, is built on an MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture. The structural details of the data manipulated by a Web form are purposely separated from the form’s visual details.
