Police announced Tuesday that they’ve been notified of a social media post spreading in Burbank about a perceived school threat. The Burbank Police Department did not provide details about the threat but said the same message has been circulating in neighboring school districts and is not directed at a specific school.

A bomb threat called in to Bellefonte Elementary School on Friday afternoon was deemed to be "not credible" after an investigation, the school district wrote in an email to families. The "nonspecific" bomb threat was made in a voicemail on the school's attendance line shortly before dismissal,

Colorado Springs police looked into the "nonspecific" threats to area schools and confirmed through social media on Wednesday that there is no credible threat.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Thursday that threats against Cape Fear High School were found to not be credible.

A rise in vague threats and rumors has affected schools nationwide, and the Clark County School District is no exception, officials said.
