Jeff Kernodle was near Moscow the night of the murders, and said he wanted to check in on his daughter when she told him she was feeling sick.

Kohberger was given to four life sentences for the murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin in November 2022.

Over 300 documents were released Wednesday after Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison for the brutal 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students.

Judge Steven Hippler acknowledged Kohberger's motive may never be known as he sentenced him to four consecutive life sentences on the four first-degree murder counts and the maximum penalty of 10 years on the burglary count.

Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to killing four University of Idaho students in their home in 2022, but has not said why he did it.

Xana Kernodle, 20, sustained over 50 stab wounds, including two that pierced her heart, according to the files.
