LEGO has announced a new Transformers set featuring Soundwave, a robot that transforms into a boom box – complete with two transforming tapes.

Lego’s returning to Cybertron for its latest big set, but with a twist: after giving us the Autobot leader Optimus Prime and one of his most loyal soldiers in Bumblebee over the past few years, now it’s finally the turn of the Decepticons to get their brick-based glory. Except it’s not who you might have expected to get that early honor.
Set 10358: Transformers: Soundwave will cost R3 599 and release in South Africa come “Early August”. This is according to the online storefront Great Yellow Brick, which serves online orders for the physical LEGO stores in the country.
At $189.99, Soundwave will also be Lego’s most expensive Transformers set to date when it goes on sale starting on August 1st for Lego Insiders (the company’s free loyalty program) and August 4th for everyone else. Optimus Prime is currently $179.99, while the much smaller Bumblebee is $89.99.
The LEGO Group, in collaboration with leading games, IP and toy company Hasbro, reveals the LEGO® Icons TRANSFORMERS Soundwave model set (10358), an immersive building experience crafted for adult fans.
The best thing about the figure is that it also comes with a sound-brick, and when activated, Soundwave will spout newly recorded lines. In case you haven't grabbed them yet, the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Lego sets have been big hits since they were first released.
