Eva Mendes is questioning her identity as her children with Ryan Gosling grow older. Mendes chose to step away from acting to focus on raising her children.

Eva Mendes got real about some of the changes she’s experienced in her parenting journey over the years. During an appearance Thursday on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Mendes explained that she felt a sense of clarity as a parent when her children were very young but that she “felt lost” as they got older.

Before working with Ryan Gosling in The Place Beyond The Pines, Eva Mendes featured in movies such as Hitch, Ghost Rider, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Out of Time and The Other Guys. She later quit acting to focus on her personal life and raise their two daughters – Esmeralda Amada, 10, and Amada Lee, 8.
