The pink/blue foam costs about $20-25/sheet at your local hardware store. It's not a cheap medium, not the bigger you go.

网页2011年8月7日 · Nwerke is correct. For carving stuff that large, you're going to want to go with HDU (high-density urethane) foam. It's a closed cell, rigid foam with some real strength that won't bow or sag like open-cell foams would. And floral foam is just damaged too easily. In large production houses, they'll order huge blocks of it.

This has zero reaction on the Styrofoam, this has worked on many of the job I have done in the past.

网页2011年1月12日 · On larger projects in the past I've glued blocks of this foam together for carving with Great Stuff expanding foam. @ SeanB13: I use just straight up hardware store Plaster of Paris for waste molds. Something like Hydrocal or Hydrostone would be more difficult to remove.

网页2017年2月16日 · Morning, it would depend on a few things. I used Hot Wire Foam Factory hard coat products in my theater. But that leave a very rough stone like texture, and if you're handling the prop, it probably wouldn't hold up. The other product I almost used, was Styrospray 1000. It's a thin layer of plastic that coats the prop and it appears very robust.

I've used styrofoam heads (male ones, larger than your basic wig forms), plaster busts, hard foam busts from www.monstermakers.com and custom carved styrofoam for oddly shaped characters. hope that helps a a little.
